CATECHIST CERTIFICATION CLASSES All catechists are requested by the Diocese to both complete their background check prior to being in the classroom (required) and to be certified within the first 3 years of teaching. There are 3 main areas of certification: Theological, Methodology, and Personal Development. During the school year, we will hold classes in the Parish Life Room from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.: October 6th
These nights are designed for all families in the Parish who want to learn more about their faith. We gather at 6:00 p.m. in the Church Hall, with each family bringing a "brown bag" (or whateve4r fast food you like!) dinner for themselves. After eating, the evening varies by subject, but we will generally break into 3 groups - adults, preschool and middle school. Each group will have age-appropriate activities based on the theme of the evening. We finish at 7:30 p.m. so that all young children can get home to bed! Some of last year's evenings included "A night of Saints", "The Promises of Lent", "Sacraments", and the most popular "Learning About Your Parish Church", which included a scavenger hunt. All are welcome to join us! Dates are as follows - and it is always held in the Church Hall from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.: Tuesday, October 14th |
