children of all ages (especially preschool-6th grade). |

| Eucharistic Ministers for Liturgy |
Father Rodgers |
A group of parishioners who are Diocesan certified through the Office of Worship. They assist the pastor during communion by distributing the Eucharist. |
| Extraordinary Ministers for the Sick |
Sister Louisa Schumacher |
A group of parishioners who are Diocesan certified through the Office of Worship. They pray, read scripture, and distribute Eucharist to the sick. |
| Greeters |
Parish Office |
A dedicated group of parishioners who greet and welcome parishioners before mass as well as distribute bulletins following the mass. |
| Readers |

This group of parishioners is dedicated to reading the Scripture during Mass. |
| Ushers |

Assist congregation with Mass participation (i.e. seating, assisting physically challenged individuals, providing emergency help to those in need before, during, and following Mass.) Ushers select individuals to present the gifts (2nd graders' families are assigned for part of the year) and take up the offertory collections at weekend masses and other special times. They also help maintain good order during the liturgical celebrations. |

The Sodality promotes the Fatima First
Saturday devotions requested by the Virgin Mary, Mother of
Jesus. Assistance to our pastor in service to the parish
is also a priority. |

Groups meet in homes one time a month for scripture and/or spiritual reading after which they discuss, share insights, and pray together. |

| Emmanuel Dining Room
Meets the 27th of each month. |

The Emmanuel Dining Room committee cooks and serves lunch for Emmanuel East on the 27th of each month for 180-250 people. We cook the food in the church kitchen and then take the meals to the Emmanuel dining room and serve. |
| Faith Support Group

Meets the spiritual needs of parishioners who have faced their own serious illness. This group meets on a regular basis to listen and to share the meaning of the Scriptures in relation to their own illness and to pray for those parishioners facing the challenges of serious personal illness. |
| Nursing Home Visitation |

Sister Louisa takes communion, holds a short prayer service including readings, and homily for residents. Volunteers visit for a brief time with the residents. |
| Guatemalan Solidarity Partnership

Our parish response committed to carrying out our Diocesan Partnership with San Marcos Diocese in Guatemala. The group's goal is to incorporate education, prayer,
relationship-building and funding elements into this solidarity partnership with our Guatemalan brothers and sisters living here in our own diocese and in the San Marcos Diocese in Guatemala. |
| Lazarus Committee
Rotating turns of 1-1 1/2 hours from viewing to
Funeral Mass. |

A dedicated group of senior Parishioners who give their time to house sit for a parish family who has experienced a death of a love one. |
| Meals on Wheels |

A dedicated group of parishioners who pick-up and deliver a lunchtime hot meal to the homebound in our geographical area on a week-day. Time needed is about one and one-half hours. |
| Samaritan Center
MWF from 9:30- 11:30 AM. Only one day a
month for two hours. |

The SMM Samaritan Center has office hours MWF from 9:30- 11:30am to answer calls from community members needing financial assistance. Generally these calls are for utility bills or housing. Occasionally we help with meals, rides to mass. |
| St. Paul's Food Closet
Deliveries are made every Sunday or Monday. |

The St. Paul's Food Closet committee helps gather food from our parish and deliver it to the St. Paul’s Food Closet. We place baskets in the church vestibule for collection. |
| Visiting Ministry |

The Visiting Ministry represents parishioners dealing with illness or grief. They visit parishioners in hospitals, nursing homes, confined to home after hospitalization, and who have lost a loved one. |

Prayer line consists of a number of volunteers who receive, record, and pray for the petitions of parishioners. These intentions are recorded in the Book of Prayer located in the back of the church. Please join us in praying for the many needs (healing, employment, discernment, etc.) of our people. |

A group of seniors from SMM and the
surrounding area that gather for Bingo, cards, and light
refreshments. Dues are $4 from Sept. to May. |
| Athletic Association |

Organizes all efforts to provide our
athletes (3rd - 12th grade) with the opportunity to play on
different athletic fields at various levels of
competition. Our sports teams range from 3rd grade soccer
to cheerleading to 12th grade boys basketball. Respect,
Sportsmanship and Christian Morals are the foundation of this
program. |
| Blood Bank |

for a large employer and need the benefits of a blood bank. |
| Bridge Club
Meets 3rd Friday of the month at 8 PM at
members' homes. |

This group is for parishioners who wish
to play and enjoy the game of Bridge. |
| Coffee and Doughnuts
After the 9 AM Mass on 1st & 3rd Sunday
of the month in the Church Hall. |

Offers hospitality in the form of
doughnut, coffee, and juice after the 9 AM Mass in the Church
Hall on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month. The entire
parish is welcome. |
| Home and School Assoc. (HSA) |

A cooperative, non-profit organization that promotes the welfare of children and youth in the home, school, church and community. HSA has numerous committees that work with SMM school. |
| Knights of
Columbus |

A fraternal organization for men aged 18
or older that are practicing Catholics. The Council based
at St. Mary Magdalen Church is known as The Bishop Curtis
Council. They perform over 50 activities a year that
support the Church, community, and youth of our area. They
raise money through projects that helps host activities in the
efforts listed above. It is an organization that allows members
to live their faith. New members are always welcome. |
| Knit- Purl- Pray
Meets the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the
month from 7 - 9 PM in the Library. |

Members of Knit- Purl- Pray make Prayer
Shawls for parishioners who are facing serious illness or loss
of a loved one. Before each shawl is created, the members,
needles, and yarn are blessed. As the gift is created, the
knitter prays for the special needs of the recipient. The
shawls represent physical, emotional, and spiritual
warmth. No knitting experience is necessary. We will
be happy to teach you! |

Gathers information from the Parish
office about people who have registered to become a
parishioner. Invitations are sent to the person(s)
inviting them to a Coffee and Donuts Sunday where they are
introduced to other parishioners and chairpersons from other
organizations of the parish. A resource table is available
with information about the school, youth group, social concerns,
Mom and Baby group, and more. |
| Parish Life Committee

Sponsors programs and activities to
encourage members of the parish to come together in community in
the spirit of the mission statement of the parish. These
activities include the Parish Picnic, Advent Wreath Workshop,
Easter Egg Hunt, and Parish Open House. |

Boy Scouts: An organization for
boys 11 to 18 years of age. We focus on promoting good
values and character mixed in with some basic outdoor and social
skills. Boy Scouts enjoy camping and various other outdoor
activities every month.
Cub Scouts: An organization for boys in 1st- 5th
grades. We focus on promoting good values and character
mixed in with some basic outdoor and social skills. We try
to do this in a fun, family environment. |

Girl Scouts: The Girl Scouts is a
worldwide organization where girls build character and skills
for success in the real world. In partnership with adult
volunteers, girls develop qualities such as leadership, strong
values, social conscience and conviction about their own
potential and self-worth. Girl Scouting is open to all girls
ages 5 -17.
99% of all adults in Girl Scouting are volunteers.
Junior Girl Scouts: A Girl Scouts organization for girls
in 4th - 6th grades. We focus on providing community services
and have fun trying new things such as tennis, hiking, camping,
roller-skating, canoeing, and horseback riding.
Brownies: A Girl Scouts organization for girls in first
through third grade.
Daisies: A Girl Scouts organization for girls in
kindergarten. The main focus of this young group is public
service projects and crafts. |

The Littlest Christians' Group consists
of parents with children from Baptism to age five committed to
helping each other to raise their children with Christian

| Video Lending Library
(VLL)
Open after the 5 PM, 9 AM, and 11 AM
Masses |

The VLL is a collection of over 200
videos appropriate for preschoolers thru adults and is open to
all parishioners after the 5 PM, 9 AM, and 11 AM Masses.
We offer rentals of theological and/or family oriented,
contemporary and traditional selections at very low rates. |
